My Target audience
After much research I have decided to make my magazine a mass market and have now changed my target audience. I have decided to make my magazine a rock/indie magazine. Here you see an issue of Q magazine. A main artist on the front of the magazine and not a band. This is what i will be doing for my magazine. The main image is of a solo artist but also shows bands. Q is a huge mass market magazine, Q is a great magazine to bass mine on. I changed my magazine style because the most recognised and successful magazines are magazines like Q (a mass market magazine) and also kerrang magazine ( a niche market in rock music). I have aimed my magazine at a mass market like Q which personal i think it gives more choice for the reader. I am aiming at an age between 16-30, this is a huge age size which is gives more freedom to put bands and musicians in my magazine and its expanding my audience.
This is Q magazines contents page. Here it tells the reader about many bands and artist. This helps to put more information and much more detail on your double page spread and your contents page as seen here. I prefer the way the contents page is set out here. There is still a main image dominating the page but positioned on the right side of the page and the information positioned on the left side of the page. I will use this as a backbone for my contents page and take ideas and themes from it.

Publication plan
Title - These are a few ideas for my masthead, i have chosen my title name 'The Lyric'. I have used paint.net to design my mastheads. I am still experimenting with some more but the second one down is my favourite so far because it looks handwriten like a lyric. This makes it original and good for the moden magazine.
positing statement/selling line - My selling line will be catchy and original. Somthing thats got something to do with my Niche market and the style of my magazine. It will be positioned above the masthead and the same house style as the masthead.
Frequency of publication - Personally i think monthly magazines are more successful than other music magazines that sell theirs every week for example. I think its because every week you struggle to add more things to a magazine than if you do it monthly. There will be more information and topics to talk about.
Price - I will be selling my magazine at about £3.00 a issue. Monthly magazines seem to sell theirs at around the same price keeping to the codes and conventions
Distribution-
Rationale- I will give my audience interviews exclusives on my magazine, i will also be going into depth into my bands and artisit on my magazine and this will give the audience an insight into the bands world. I will also be doing competitions on my magazines for the audience members to win money or a trip. I will give them information on gig dates, when the next gig is coming near you and also the bands next tour, so the audience has a heads up on what to come.
Style - My target audience will be a Niche market and aimed at teenagers aged between 15-18. The magazine is a acoustic/indie magazine showing solo artisit for example Ellie Goulding/Michael Buble and also it will feature indie bands like Mumford and Sons/Snow Patrol.

Questionnaire results
My questionnaire results tell me that most people read magazines and a large group of them either choose Q magazine or Kerrang. Also most people usually buy magazines monthly and spend around 2 pound for each magazine, this gives me a clue on what price i should sell my magazine at. A large population of people like my masthead 'The Lyric' which i have now chosen for my final piece. The articles most people seem to enjoy to read is the interviews and Question and answer articles, this gives me an indication that i should do questions and answers for my double page spread. Also they seem to read more rock/indie magazines than Rnb and electro. This gives me a good clue as the style and theme of my magazine and what type of bands i shall put of my magazine.
For my last question i asked them what they would expect to see on a double page spead of a music magazine and these are some comments left.
